Stretching your Mind Through Learning
he Learning Centre is the educational core of the Farquharson Institute of Public Affairs (FIPA). It exists because we believe that true progress—whether in families, communities, or industries—depends on people having the opportunity to learn, to question, and to apply new knowledge in ways that strengthen their everyday lives.

This division is where our work comes alive through presentations, workshops, and public discussions. These are not just lectures; they are experiences designed to spark curiosity, build skills, and foster critical thinking. By engaging with audiences of all ages and backgrounds, the Learning Centre makes sure that the knowledge generated across FIPA’s divisions is accessible, practical, and empowering.

Why Presentations Matter
We have chosen presentations as a central method of learning because they bring people together. Presentations create space for shared discovery, where ideas are not only explained but also explored through dialogue. In today’s fast-paced world, many people are bombarded with information but left without clarity. Our presentations are carefully crafted to cut through the noise and focus on what truly matters—whether that is family well-being, workplace leadership, or industry innovation.
These sessions combine storytelling, research, and interactive engagement. They are designed to leave participants not just informed, but inspired and equipped with tools they can immediately use. Presentations also create a ripple effect: when one person learns and applies new insights, their family, workplace, or community benefits as well.
